After taking a beating on social media and in the press earlier this month for his views on homosexuality and gay marriage, Phil Robertson, patriarch of the Duck Dynasty clan and star of the hit A&E reality TV series is again coming under fire for his beliefs.

In an old video that recently surfaced online, Robertson is seen speaking to a church congregation, and giving dating and marriage advice to the young men in the audience. The video, shown below, was shot in 2009, and features Robertson advocating that men marry girls as young as 15 or 16 years old. With parental consent, the age for marriage in Robertson’s home state of Louisiana is 16.

[Good wives] got to where they getting hard to find, mainly because these boys are waiting till they get to be about 20 years old before they marry them. Look, you wait till they get to be 20 years old the only picking that’s going to take place is your pocket. You got to marry these girls when they are about 15 or 16.

These comments have surfaced only a few days after A&E made the decision to allow Robertson back on the Duck Dynasty show. He had been suspended after his views on gay marriage caused a social media backlash against Robertson, the show, and the television network.

Robertson married his wife, Kay, when she was only 16 years old. Recently, their marriage was featured on an episode of the show, when Kay received a wedding ring from Robertson as a Christmas present.
