High School Senior Cheers Up Dumped Prom Girl

The photo above had a sad beginning, but a happy ending.

Originally posted to Reddit, by a user who goes by the handle “MiiMZYv2,” he said that the girl came in to the North Carolina restaurant where he works, wearing her prom dress, and said that she had just been stood up by her prom date. She is 14 and a freshman in high school.

“She came into my work crying because her prom date stood her up the night of,” he wrote in the Reddit post’s comments. “She left smiling because I had another customer play music while I asked her to dance in front of everyone.”

The poster, who is 18, and a senior in high school, says because of the age difference, he’s not interested in dating the girl, but believed that what he did by dancing with her was, “the right thing to do.” It’s not clear if the two attend the same high school. They did exchange phone numbers, however, and have been talking.

If they give awards for Prom King and Prom Queen of random North Carolina burger joints, these two are a sure thing.
